Hi, I’m Ashanti Palatnik, LMFT

I'm so glad you're here.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply craving a space to breathe and reflect, I’m here to walk beside you. Life’s challenges—especially when layered with family expectations, identity shifts, and emotional exhaustion—can feel heavy. Together, we’ll work to understand your story, reduce what’s no longer serving you, and build a life that feels more aligned, connected, and empowered.

My approach

I bring a warm, collaborative, and culturally attuned presence to therapy—and I’m not afraid to use humor when it helps us breathe through the hard parts. My style is deeply trauma-informed and tailored to your unique needs. I integrate tools from CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Bowenian, Structural, and Solution- Focused models, always with an emphasis on emotional fluency, insight, and self-trust. Therapy with me is a partnership—one where you get to show up as your full self, without needing to perform or shrink.

I specialize in working with women of color, BIPOC, and Latino/a/x clients—especially those navigating the weight of family dynamics, intergenerational trauma, code-switching, and identity fatigue. My work honors the complexity of living in bicultural or multigenerational households, where language, legacy, and loyalty can often conflict with self-expression. I also support couples working to repair disconnection, break painful patterns, and build safer emotional bonds. My goal is to help each partner feel heard, understood, and equipped with tools for lasting connection.

What to expect

You can expect warmth, directness, and zero judgment. Whether you’re looking for deep insight, tangible skills, or someone who just gets it, I’ll meet you where you are. We'll take our time. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. I offer therapy for individuals, and Couples telehealth in New York. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming, neurodivergent-friendly, and culturally responsive care. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, emotionally fluent, and connected to who you really are—I’d be honored to walk with you.

Therapy for Creatives & Public-Facing Clients
If you're a high-achieving professional, artist, or public-facing individual, I offer a grounded, discreet space to process the realities behind the roles. Whether you're holding it together for everyone else or feeling emotionally isolated despite success, this is a space where you don’t have to curate or perform. You deserve to be supported—not just for what you do, but for who you are.
